"We need food, water, shelter and fire. Four basic needs in order to survive." She pointed out, "We still have food and water for tonight and tomorrow... we need to build a shelter and make a fire."
"How do you know all of that?" he asked, with tired eyes.
"TV, by watching channels with Survival Programs." She grinned at him, feeling a little bit embarrassed. "Although, i don't watch TV for ages, I just memorized this for chance or 'cause i though it would be convinient."
He lie down, exhausted and she lie beside him, holding his hand tightly.
"I can build the shelter alone, but we still need some wood for the fire." she begged him, pouting her lower lip.
He smirked and got up in slow motion, (he really looked like a zombie xD) and started walking towards the forest on the cliffs.
"Be careful!" she screamed.
"I will..."
She kept staring at him, untill the forest embraced him in the darkness and silence.
*
Drinking some gulps of fresh water and wetting her face a little bit she said "It's done!" and fell to the ground, breathless.
She took a small nap to spare and re-use her last energies.
Suddenly the forest echoed a scream and she woke up startled. "Nathaniel,.."
"Argh crap, i fell asleep." she said, looking at her watch and already running towards the emotionless deep forest, screaming his name.
She captured two shapes in a clearing lighted by the moonlight. And horror seized upon her.
There was a bear with its mouth wet of blood, fresh blood from the corpse underneath, the corpse of Nathaniel.
... And that was the last time she saw the old him ...
Fortunately, she woke up from the nightmare.
Grabbing her shoulders and shaking her gently, there was Nathaniel...
However a completly different person.
"You started screaming while you were dreaming, you really freaked me out!" leaning his body to hug her.
"Where's Nathaniel?" she asked, pushing him away.
"I'm Nathaniel, how's there any doubt?"
She focused her eyes on his and cleared her throat "Prove it!"
He grinned playfully and whispered in her ear. Instantly she slapped him.
"Outch, you asked!" he complained, crawling into the shelter and pouting.
She sat in front of him and kissed his lips softly "Thanks for setting the fire." hugging him.
He wrapped his arms around her back and lie his head on her shoulder.
"Oh dear!" she said surprised "You've been working out?"
He smirked "In both ways!"
She raised her eyebrow "Want me to slap you 'in both ways'?"
He shrugged and by doing that, she noticed traces of a tattoo on his left upper arm. "What's that in your arm?" lifting his shirt.
He tried to resist, but she had already seen it.
"Damn, you're so warm. Do you have a fever?" she asked worried.
A mixed of shame and sadness crossed his face expression.
She became silent and waited for his explaination.

"Are you saying that Nathaniel is gone?"
"The sooner i find out what happened, the sooner you'll have the answer for your question..." he deduced "... but don't you prefer myself like this? I mean i'm way stronger than before." sharing his heat with her "Now i can protect you." humming in her ear.
She purred deeply when he started kissing down her neck and pulled his hair back stating "I shouldn't trust you..."
"Then don't!"
And since that night their destiny were tangled for all eternity.
Will it be strong enough to last?
Were they meant to fall in love, but not be together?
