Sloan's punishment

Somewhere in the middle of Alagaësia,
in the most feared mountain of them all,
Helgrind!

While the most expected war was begining to strike,
between light Dragons, Elves, Dwarfs and Humans.
You were locked away from reality, in some darkened, dirty prison, away from your precious daughter.
Some creatures, called Ra'zac, ripped out your bones;
the pain was nothing compared with the thought that they can do the same to your daughter, Katrina.
You couldn't move,
the members of your body completly ignored the orders produced by your brain. The only piece of you, that still could move by your will, were your eyes.
The environment around you stink.
The scent of blood and human flesh was still impregnated in the air.
Kill, after kill;
Ra'zac could destroy a whole village, and still yearn for more souls to haunt and the taste of sinning flesh. Nasty creatures, with bug faces and scaly skin.
Unable to feel any kind of emotions, only living for the pleasure of being the monster in children's nightmares, being the incurable scars in brave men and the sorrow in women's faces.
You lost the count of the days, that you were trapped in that hole, with just a slight light, shinning through a crack on the wall.
You were able to distinguish the wall, made of mud mixed with traces of human pieces and the several handcuffs with hanging corpses continuing to decompose.
Suddenly someone opened the door,
your heart started racing...
Not that they could do worse to you, than you already were; unless they're going to torture Katrina!
She was the only thing you had left in your entire life. Without her, you hadn't a meaning to live.

the unknown person grabbed you and carried you towards the light. Maybe you were just junk being dumped...

When you became conscious again, the young man had already lighted a fire and the meal was already cooked.
And for the first time, you saw clearly his face, it was Eragon, the reason of all your problems.
"Where's Katrina?" you aggressively asked.
"Saphira is taking her to Surda, alongside with Roran. They are going to marry. And I'm here to ask you, if you give them your bless."
"Well then, you saved me in vain. Not even if I become mad, I'll allow that bond!" you protested, knowing that Eragon was condemning you to a fate worse than the own death.
"There's no way, I'll let you ruin my cousin's happiness. Roran and Katrina love each other, so they should be together!"
"And for that, they need my blessing, or be DEAD!" you noted
"Not necessarily." Eragon whispered, "I just need your real name."

*

And against your will, Eragon healed your injuries, and demanded you to walk 1000 miles towards Ellesméra, the Elves's land. There you would find a house and food waiting, yes you were able to survive... However that wasn't living.
Katrina could never be happy with a peasant, she deserved better, as well as, a father to support her in everything she needed.

Days and nights passed by, your life seemed to last forever.
Although you could do whatever you wanted, you couldn't find the right motivation to even go for a walk. All your hope was killed in the day you lost your daughter. Now you merely sat on a bench looking at the lake, staring at a swan.
That beautiful creature reminded you of your beloved wife, gracious and elegant.

"Shall I grant your wish?" you begged.
My wish is to fly, over the rainbow, so high... (The swan replied)
